My
drawings are interpretations of powerful people interacting
and communicating in professional and political situations.
Posture and gestures are common in these environments and are
used to punctuate speech and create a display of non-verbal
social hierarchy. This gestural form of communication is usually
practiced and controlled. It is used consciously with the goal
of subjugating the listener. I draw archetypes of power brokers
based on images I see on television, in magazines and on the
internet. My drawings allow me to explore and study the non-verbal
communication and the power play that is happening in our society.
