Much
of my work is concerned with improvisation and performance.
Some of the performances are done in front of an audience.
Some are done in my studio and captured on video. Some result
in drawings, photographs and book pieces.
All
of the works in this exhibition were made specifically for
HAUS. I got many of my ideas from the space itself. This "haus",
once a house, has a distinct history and character and an intimate
scale. Walking through the front door, moving from living room
to dining room to hallway affects how I relate to work and
even to what I see.
I
am grateful for the opportunity to work in several media for
this exhibition. Recurring ideas bounce from one medium to
another in ways that surprise me. It is the way I work in my
studio and it is the way I work best
